The pictures above are representative of the different stages of the
commission process.

This is a recently commissioned painting celebrating the marriage of the clients and the birth of their first child.

The first photo is an initial compositional drawing containing basic elements of the final painting. With a number of these drawings, ideas become apparent for the agreed upon design including the content, proportion, and size.

The second photo shows the final drawing. In this case, it is on a 1:2 scale. All the objects of symbolism have been agreed upon. The bouquet of flowers are comprised of the birth flowers of the couple and of their child, the pomegranate and candle are symbols of fertility, the walnuts of matrimony, and the “MMI” of the year of the betrothal.

The third photo records the painting in completion.
